The Brit School

The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology is a British performing arts and technology school located in Croydon, England. It has a mandate to provide education and vocational training for the performing arts, media, art and design and performance technologies.

This project was completed by Paul Clarke. He designed and installed a control system for lighting grid hoists in the new theatre, consisting of:

• Inverter based hoist control for smooth hoisting.
• 4 Way multiplexing system to allow one inverter to control four hoists.
• Loadcell monitoring for overload.
• Central pendant controller for all hoists.
